Hannah Stephenson was the first child of John Stephenson & Frances Estill born July-September 1847 at Mickleby, Nr Whitby, N. Yorks.
In 1851 Hannah & her parents were living at Mickleby where her father was a boot & shoe maker.
By 1861 her father had died & her mother had remarried. Hannah was still living with her younger sister Ann & mother, now Frances Trueman, but her step-father, William, who was a mariner was not at home. The family, which included some of William Trueman’s children were living at Tate Hill, Whitby. One of her step-brothers, William, was a shoemaker like Hannah’s father.
By 1871 Hannah was working as a cook for Rachel & George Russell, a miller, brewer & corn merchant, & their family at the Mount, Old Malton, Yorks.
Hannah married Anthony Forster Fish in Oct-December 1875, the marriage being registered at Scarborough. Anthony was born in April-June 1850 at Barton-le-Willows, Yorks, the son of Hannah Forster & William Fish, a journeyman, saddler.
In 1881 Hannah & Anthony, a millwright, & their children, Herbert (2) & Hilda (1) were living at Commercial St, Norton in Malton.
Hannah & Anthony were still living at Commercial St in 1891 & Anthony was now described as a wheelwright & machine maker. They had 2 children at home – Herbert & Percy (8), as sadly little Hilda had died aged just 2 years.
Hannah died on February 24th, 1894, aged 46, at Commercial St, Norton. Hannah’s mother-in-law, Hannah Fish, also died in the same quarter at Malton.

In 1901 widowed Anthony, still a millwright, was living with his brother James Fish (54), who was recorded as being blind. James’ wife Lavinia was a grocer & they were living at Commercial St, Norton. Anthony’s sons Herbert, also a millwright, & Percy, a tailor’s apprentice, were also living there.
By 1911 Anthony was living at 96 Castlegate, Malton with his sons. Herbert was a millwright like his father & Percy was a tailor.
Anthony’s brother James died in 1915 at Malton. In April-June 1918 Anthony married James’ widow Lavinia Fish at York.
Anthony died Jan-March 1929, aged 78, at Malton, Yorks.
